Kacey Musgraves visited Kamakura, Japan’s Hōkoku-ji in May 2018 and shared, “We drove an hour and a half outside of Tokyo, had freshly-made matcha at a Buddhist temple, built in 1334 in a bamboo forest. I got overwhelmed with emotion and gratitude for what I have and for being alive.”
