Tāne Mahuta

  • In October 2017, Bryce Dallas Howard shared a shot of her time at Tāne Mahuta and explained, “The traditional Māori greeting, the Hongi is done by pressing one’s nose and forehead at the same time. Here I am with Bill Matthews, our guide from Footprints Waipoua & Crossings Hokianga in front of NZ’s largest known living kauri tree, Tane Mahuta, over 2,000 years old. This sacred moment brought me to tears.”
